Dan Runchel is a singer/songwriter who started singing, entertaining and performing as young as 8 years of age. During his teenage years through his love and passion for music he started playing in bands performing at school assemblies, private functions and also public venues with bands Pilgrum and Streets of Omah.
Joining Newcastle alternative rock 4 piece band Vaudeville in 2007 as lead singer and bass guitarist enduring relentless touring performing over 100 shows and supporting established Australian bands such as Grinspoon, Birds of Tokyo, Dragon, Cog, Brittish India just to name a few.
Big day out co-owner Ken West announced that Vaudeville would be playing at the 2009 Sydney Big Day out after they came runners up in the Tooheys uncharted competition this was not supposed to be the prize but he thought they deserved a spot on the line-up which included Neil Young, Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy and TV on the radio.
Vaudeville received airplay on national radio station Triple J with their single “Running on empty” which was played on the “2009 with Richard Kingsmill” program. Vaudeville then went onto play at Groovin the moo music festival in 2010.
Dan is now concentrating on composing his own material while heavily in demand to perform at weddings, private functions and public venues. Performing as either a soloist, duet or band format depending on the customer’s preferred requirement.
Having a wide vocal range allows Dan to perform songs from a large variety of genres covering acts such as The Beatles, Katy Perry, AC/DC, Pharrell Williams, U2, INXS, Mumford and sons, Johnny Cash, Vance joy and the list goes on.
